When the Battle Follows You Home

A gentle beginning

Some battles don’t end when the uniform comes off. For many veterans and families, the hardest moments can show up in the quiet—after the homecoming, after the celebrations, after the world expects you to be ‘back to normal.’

If that’s you, you’re not failing. You’re not weak. You’re carrying weight that was never meant to be carried alone. You lived through so much and now who knew your biggest fears would be not during battle but relearning how live in society. I'm here to remind you that you are loved by a God who thinks you're amazing just the way you are. He'll meet you where you're at if you only give him a chance.

Jesus, meet me in the places I don’t have words for. Bring light into what feels dark, and peace into what feels loud. Help me take the next right step today. Amen.
